Counseling
Rob Stock . Assistant Principal & Academic Counselor
Mr. Stock is the academic counselor at Metro-East Lutheran High School. Throughout a student's high school career, he works with them planning schedules that ensure readiness for graduation and future college majors and careers.
Mr. Stock also works with incoming freshmen to lay out a four-year plan that will help navigate their entire high school career.
During a student’s Junior and Senior years, they will receive information about taking the ACT/SAT, applying for colleges, and finding scholarship opportunities. We aid in sending transcripts and transferring credits from dual credit courses, giving our graduates support and encouragement as they move beyond their high school career.
Jon Giordano . Senior Advisor
Faith Spelbring . Direcotor of the Student Success Center
Mrs. Spelbring operates the Student Success Center, a place on campus where students can go if they are stressed and need help. Whether students are struggling with academics, difficult situations, or relationships with others in their life, Mrs. Spelbring can help them navigate through the challenges. The Student Success Center focus on four areas of development:
+ Emotional Support – we provide a listening ear for students experiencing anxiety and coach them toward finding positive ways to handle their stress. We refer out for all professional counseling services as our center is not staffed with mental health professionals.
+ Spiritual Maturity – we supports the already robust spiritual education student receive in class and chapel services throughout the week. We help students learn to keep maters of faith in mind when they are struggling, search scripture for God’s Word on all matters, and pray for a resolution.
+ Leadership Development – we provide resources for spiritual leadership development and one-on-one coaching opportunities for those who wish to develop leadership skills that can be put to use for the kingdom of God.
+ Vocational – we provide practical learning opportunities through which students can gain life skills to excel outside of the classroom
