  • Apply for a Scholarship through the Invest in Kids Act (Illinois Tax Credit)
  • Meet with the Principal about additional scholarship from generous donors

Basic Tuition for 2018-2019

The MELHS Board of Directors annually reviews and sets the basic tuition.


Membership Discount

$1,100

Association Discount is granted for members of association congregations. The student and parent / guardian must annually show that they are a member in good standing at an association congregation by having the pastor or his representative complete a form. These forms are available through the school office. Congregations determine "good standing".


Multiple Child Discount

30-50%

A 30% discount is applied to the tuition for the 2nd child attending Lutheran High from an immediate family and a 50% discount for additional children (to be calculated after the Association Discount if applicable).

Non-refundable application fee for all new students. $100

Registration fee (after acceptance). $200

The registration fee for returning students is as follows:  
Before the last day of February : $300
March 1st to May 1st : $350
After May 1st : $400
Forms for re-registration will be made available in January.

Graduation (seniors only) This fee will be included in the billing plan. $100

Driver's Education Must be paid before the first day of class. $380

Payment Options

A) Pay-in-full by August 1
B) Semester Payments - Two equal payments due to the office by August 1, 2018 and January 1, 2019
C) Monthly payments - must be done through automatic withdrawal from a bank account or by credit card through FACTS Tuition Management. There is a $30 yearly fee for this service.

MELHS seeks to help families pay tuition in a way that best fits their personal financial habits. Any exceptions to the above payment options must be requested in writing and approved by the Principal.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

A) All tuition for the school year must be paid in full by May 20th.
B) Tuition will be paid according to the predetermined plan as agreed to by the parent/guardian. For returning students, the plan from the previous year shall be in effect unless a change is requested in writing.
C) Non-payment due to non-sufficient funds will result in a fee of $25.
D) Enrollment at MELHS for any portion of a quarter (grading period) constitutes a quarter of tuition.
E) MELHS recognizes that occasionally circumstances make it impossible to make payments on a schedule. At such a time, please contact the Executive Director to discuss options. MELHS seeks to work with families in a proactive manner when financial situations arise.

NON-PAYMENT

Services may be suspended or re-enrollment denied if payments are not kept current.

All tuition and fees from the previous school year must be paid in full before the student will be allowed to begin the next school year.

If payments are more than one grading period behind (one quarter of the school year), the student will not be allowed to remain enrolled for the next grading period. In other words, if payments are more than approximately 90 days delinquent, the enrollment status will be re-evaluated. Example: If in January, tuition is still owed from the first quarter, the student will not be allowed to begin the third quarter.
