Physical Education 1 Prerequisite: None Grade: 9 Length: Semester
The emphasis at the freshman level is primarily on the fundamental skills of various traditional team sports. Fitness development and testing are done throughout this semester course. It is required of all freshman students.

Physical Education 2 Prerequisite: None Grade: 10 Length: Semester
This sophomore level course emphasizes the basic skills and rules of more obscure team sports and activities. Fitness development and fitness testing are done throughout this semester course. It is required of all sophomore students.

Healthy Lifestyles (1 & 2) Prerequisite: None Grades: 11-12 Length: Semester
This course is designed to teach students the benefits of a lifetime physical fitness routine. The activities will be focused on aerobic activities, walking, weight training, and other exercise activities.
Special Materials: $15 fee
Competitive Sports Prerequisite: Department Approval Grades: 11-12 Length: Semester
The course is designed with the competitive athlete in mind. The course will focus on team sports, including basketball, softball, flag football, etc. The desire to compete is a must for this class.
Special Materials: $15 fee
Leisure Activities Prerequisite: None Grades: 11-12 Length: Semester
This course is designed to teach students many leisure activities that can be played and enjoyed throughout their lives as a part of their physical fitness routines. This course is focused on individual and low exertion activities such as badminton, horseshoes, Frisbee golf, etc.
Special Materials: $15.00 fee
Health Prerequisite: None Grade: 10 Length: Semester
Health is the study of the physical, social, mental, and spiritual well-being of an individual. Students will be trained in First Aid and CPR by our local Red Cross. They will receive certification in both. Other topics covered include tobacco, alcohol, drugs, and interpersonal relationships pertaining to how they affect health. This semester course is required for graduation. |
